Snowboard Gloves
Although snowboard gloves can do more than just keep the
hands of a snowboarder warm, perhaps there is no more important function
of these gloves than providing warmth. Some of the top features that
snowboard gloves offer include:
• Warmth – Snowboard gloves are first and
foremost used to provide warmth. It comes as no surprise to anybody
that snow is cold. Therefore, it is also true that unprotected hands
get cold when they are in the snow. Some of the warmest snowboard gloves
are made from wool. Because wool is such a warm material, snowboarders
are able to keep their hands from being frostbitten, even if they spend
all day on the mountain.
Of course, it is also important that these gloves be waterproof. Because
a snowboarder often catches himself with his hands each time he wipes
out, he is exposing his hands to the coldness and moisture of the snow.
However, a snowboarder who wears snowboard gloves that are water resistant
can touch the snow with his gloves and not fear having his hands get
wet.
• Flexibility – One of the ways that snowboarding
varies from skiing is the fact that snowboarders need more flexibility
of their hands. Whereas a skier basically only needs to be able to grip
his ski poles, a snowboarder sometimes needs to grab his snowboard as
he does jumps or tricks on a ramp or mountain.
There are snowboard gloves made that include the option of peeling down
the part of the glove that covers the fingers. This can be a nice thing
to do while performing tricks. When the run is over, the snowboarder
can easily put the cover back on his snowboard gloves.
