Snowboard Bindings

Stepping into snowboard bindings is something that most experienced snowboarders now take for advantage, but there likely was a time when they didn’t feel so confident about doing this. In order to step into snowboard bindings, a person should:

• Sit down – Trying to stand up and do this could be potentially embarrassing for a beginner. It is best to simply sit and hold onto the board as the feet are tilted.

• Remove the snow – A person should be sure to knock all of the loose snow off of the bindings. There should be no ice or snow left in the bindings because this may cause more difficulties to the person trying to step into the bindings.

• Lift the strap – After the strap is lifted out of the way, the heel should be placed into the back of the binding. There should be no space left in between the heel and the back of the binding. By kicking his or heels back, a rider can ensure a tight fit.

• Find the strap – Take back the strap and re-attach it around the area of the heel. This is called the heel strap. Place the strap into the clicker and ratchet the binding shut or clamp it down near the strap. What a person does here might depend on the type of snowboard bindings he has.

• Now the toe – The toe strap should then be attached in the same way. This strap must be snug, but still also be comfortable.

Once all the snowboard straps are tightened on the snowboard bindings, the person should be ready to snowboard down the hill.
